ESTHER PALMER Personal Trainer

Esther Palmer has been a student of the moving body since she was old enough to twirl. Dance injuries led her to ask the hard questions and yoga has helped her to take the answers in stride. She quickly turned to teaching because it is ridiculously fun –the adult equivalent of twirling.

An ISHTA Yoga certified yoga teacher (E-RYT 500), Esther is known for her nurturing and educational style, and sneaking in challenge where you least expect it. “Ishta” means “resonates with the individual,” and this tenet of the ISHTA style runs through all of Esther’s teaching as a deep respect for the individual experience. She leads a daily ISHTA meditation practice, and is certified in restorative, prenatal, and trauma-sensitive yoga. Her teaching is further informed by years of study in modern dance and the Alexander Technique, and a recent interest in strength training methods.

Esther co-created and leads the Teacher Training programs at Yoga 216, including Functional Anatomy for Yoga Teachers, a program that makes basic kinesiology readily accessible to new teachers with little anatomy training. She holds an MFA in Dance and Technology from The Ohio State University, where she discovered a fascination with animation, design, and architecture, and finding movement in all things.
