Nimble’s co- founders, Daniel Lucas and Keith Paine, along with Nimble client Todd Essig are gearing up for a 50 mile race,  Rock the Ridge and raising money for the Mohonk preserve. If you would like to donate, click here. They will be blogging their training progress along the way up to race day, April 30th. Here is Daniel’s first post:

Soooo me, Keith and one of our awesome Nimble clients Mr. Todd Essig are committed to running a 50 miles race in the mountains New York.   Ok, let’s be honest, we are not going to be running many of those miles.   I’m guess we end up running a third of the miles but it’s the challenge of trucking 50 miles through the beautiful Mohonk reserve wilderness that’s exciting to the three of us.   I can speak for the other guys but I have not trained for this test of endurance and it will be a test.   But I have been training and getting fit over the last year.   Now it’s time to test how much strength comes in to the endurance realm.   I currently workout 5/6 days a week but three of them are not that intense.   Two dedicated strength days and three endurance and cross training days.   I’m currently down about 7 pounds from my heaviest over the winter.   My deadlift is riding at around 275.   Let’s see if that hamstring length and strength serves me in the last 10 to 15 miles.   I sure hope so because I have only been running 2-5 miles at any given session.   I’m starting to add volume to the time on my feet and will hit 15-20 miles this week and progress from there until the April 30th race.  It’s my intention that my solid conditioning foundation will assist me in enjoying the hike through the forest.

Me and the guys will be reporting in from time to time so stay tuned.  Videos to come.

Much lov.
