Build strong legs, integrate them with a well-functioning set of core muscles, and it will change your life! For pretty much any sport, functionally speaking, there is nothing more important than being able to trust in your legs. Today, I’ll share three leg exercises to help you connect to and fully trust in those legs of yours.

• Single Leg Hip Extension
• Single Leg touchdown w/ reach
• Single leg squat

The video below demonstrates a beginner-level series, which will help get you started in building stronger legs. This is not a complete leg-strengthening program, but a series of leg exercises that are the first part of a bigger plan. Give these a try and see how you do. Make sure to look for more advanced follow-ups to this series in upcoming posts.

Proper form is important, so work on becoming aware of where your body is in space, and how you can improve. These exercises can also reveal your current level of strength. Also, assess the difference between your left leg and right leg. Pay extra attention to your body if you see a noticeable weakness on one side.
